Technology, Applications, Selection, Monitoring, Performance, Troubleshooting and Environmental Concerns

Course Title
Corrosion Inhibition: Technology, Applications, Selection, Monitoring, Performance, Troubleshooting and Environmental Concerns

Course Date/Venue
January 18-22, 2009/Safari Meeting Room, Samaya Hotel, Dubai , UAE

Course Reference
WE220

Course Duration/Credits
Five days/3.0 CEUs

Course Objectives
Upon the successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

•  Update the Corrosion Engineers knowledge, the Chemists and other relevant disciplines, regarding the new Corrosion Inhibitors technology and treatment, for corrosion control and mitigation.

•  Highlight potential problems associated with injection operations and its chemical treatment management.

•  Evaluate and select corrosion inhibitors, their application, how to quantify inhibition rates and monitor their efficiency in corrosion mitigation.

•  Classify the system according to its characteristics e.g. PH levels, oxygen contamination, temperature and pressure

•  Select an inhibitor system – what's your secret recipe?

•  Evaluate corrosion inhibitor efficiency – justifying cost vs. performance

•  Know the risks if you do not choose the appropriate inhibitors

•  Review how the type of chemicals used changes according to the asset conditions
