Workshop Objectives
Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Know the basic principles & application of power systems protection technology

  • Understand faults & their effects on equipment including the safety & dangers of these faults and perform simple fault calculation

  • Become familiar with the implications of various system grounding techniques on system performance

  • Learn the construction, characteristics & practical demonstration of fuses, current and voltage transformers & relays

  • Explain the principles & calculation of settings for grading and protection co-ordination & cite practical examples

  • Explain the principles and characteristics of unit protection and cable protection including their differential protection

  • Know the proper procedure for transformer protection related to restricted earth fault schemes and Buchholz relay, overpressure, oil and winding temperature

  • Learn the proper procedure for motor protection, starting and stalling conditions & know what to do in case of thermal overload

  • List the various generator data requirements, current, voltage impedance & power protection functions for generator protection

  • Give emphasis on the principles of protection relay management including the scheme design, procurement, commissioning, maintenance and testing of power systems

Workshop Certificate
Haward Technology certificate will be issued to all attendees completing minimum of 75% of the total tuition hours of the workshop.

Workshop Accreditation
Haward Technology’s courses/workshops/seminars meet the professional certification and continuing education requirements for participants seeking Continuing Education Units (CEUs) in accordance with the rules & regulations of the International Association for Continuing Education & Training (IACET). IACET is an international authority that evaluates programs according to strict, research-based criteria and guidelines. The CEU is an internationally accepted uniform unit of measurement in qualified workshops of continuing education.

Haward Technology has been approved as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), 1760 Old Meadow Road, Suite 500, McLean, VA 22102, USA. In obtaining this approval, Haward Technology has demonstrated that it complies with the ANSI/IACET 1-2007 Standard which is widely recognized as the standard of good practice internationally. As a result of our Authorized Provider membership status, Haward Technology is authorized to offer IACET CEUs for its programs that qualify under the ANSI/IACET 1-2007 Standard.

Haward Technology Middle East will award 3.0 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) for participants who completed the total tuition hours of this program. One CEU is equivalent to ten Professional Development Hours (PDHs) or ten contact hours of the participation in and completion of Haward Technology programs. A permanent record of a participant’s involvement and awarding of CEU will be maintained by Haward Technology. Haward Technology will provide a copy of the participant’s CEU Transcript of Records upon request.

Workshop Fee
US $ 3,750 per Delegate. This rate includes Participant’s Pack (Folder, Manual, Hand-outs, etc.), buffet lunch, coffee/tea on arrival, morning & afternoon of each day.

Accommodation
Accommodation is not included in the workshop fees. However, any accommodation required can be arranged by Haward Technology at the time of booking.
