General John Van Rooyen (UK) is a Senior Military Officer and an Expert in Security & Risk Analysis, Terrorism, Intelligence, Military Engineering Management, Risk Reduction & Prevention and Operations & Security Management with over 30 years of field experience. Having retired from the service as a Colonel and Deputy Director , John was the senior directing staff member for military engineering services where he provided instruction for senior army officers in the field of engineering planning, logistics, including their operational plans; and directed senior army officers in operational and strategic planning processes inclusive of personnel, logistical and financial management. He had been the Commander of the Army Engineer Corps, where he spearheaded the establishment of logistical systems as well as training and development activities specific to the stringent logistical requirements that support military engineering operations. For more than a decade, he had worked as a Security Manager for several international companies taking charge of all the security and safety related operations within company premises. Herein, he had heavily engaged in security analysis & risk assessment, security system development & implementation, critical asset protection, quantitative & qualitative risk analysis, counter-terrorism and intelligence operations.
