During his career life, he was the Senior Associate for Global Energy Practice of Booz Allen Hamilton Company in the USA wherein he provided strategic management & economic consulting services to clients around the world. He assisted four of the largest global energy companies build and strengthen businesses fro m upstream operations to downstream marketing. He was also the Special Assistant ( Presidential Appointee ) to the Mineral Management Service Director of the US Department of the Interior where he was the Senior Advisor on energy policy, regulation & markets and negotiated & developed major regulations & policies with industry, FERC, the States and Congress. Prior to this, Mr. Macy was the Senior Economist, Policy Advisor & Project Manager of Sentech USA and the US Agency for International Development. He was a valued Consultant to the US Department of Energy and to other organizations on emerging technology issues. He managed energy and environmental investment & policy projects in Eastern Europe .

In the earlier years, Mr. Macy was the Senior Economist at the Office of the Management & Budget of the US President's Office (the White House) where he was a lead economist in a special policy unit focused on national energy, royalty and environmental policies. He was also an Energy Associate for McKinsey & Company where he developed corporate strategies, market & financial analyses for leading global companies. He also worked as Senior Financial Economist for British Petroleum wherein he developed corporate financial strategy including corporate structure, hedging and liability management. He also analyzed oil markets, tax issues, regulations and energy policy.

Mr. Macy has Masters degrees in Economics and Mineral Economics & Mining and Bachelors degree in Material Science. He is the ex President of the International Association for Energy Economics and continues to be an active & highly regarded member.
