Professor Chris Mechefske (Canada), P.. , PhD Mech. ng., is an Authority and an International xpert in Machine Condition Monitoring , Fault Diagnosis , Vibration and Predictive Maintenance with over 27 years of academic and industrial experience in this field.
 
 


He is currently the Professor of Machinery Vibration & Condition Monitoring at Queen's University, Ontario, Canada , where he is teaching and supervising postgraduate researchers (Master's , PhDs , Postdocs).

During his long career life, Dr. Mechefske worked for many world-class companies from Australia in the far southeast to Canada in the far northwest of the world and throughout urope and the United States . His list of companies includes Van-Rob Stamping Inc ., Mattamy Homes Ltd ., Syncrude Canada Ltd ., GM Defence , Ontario Power Generation , Philips Lighting , Boston dison , Farmatic Research Inc. , Thames Valley , BTR Nylex Ltd ., Cargill Inc., Powertech Labs and B.C. Hydro .

Dr. Mechefske is a Visiting Professor at the University of Western Ontario (Canada), ast China Jiaotong University (China), Gunma University (Japan) and Monash University (Australia). He is an ditorial Board Member of the Journal of Condition Monitoring and Diagnostic ngineering Management , a Member of the Canadian Advisory Council (ISO Technical Committee 108), the President of the Canadian Machinery Vibration Association (CMVA), an xecutive Board Member of the USA Vibration Institute (VI), a Member of the American Society of Mechanical ngineers (ASM), a Member of the Canadian Society of Mechanical ngineers (CSM), a Member of British Institute for Non-Destructive Testing , a Member of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM), the Chairman of the Canadian Machinery Vibration Association (CMVA), the Chairman of the Mechanical Vibration and Noise Committee of ASM , a Member of the Steering Committee of Asia Pacific Conference on Systems Integrity and Maintenance (ACSIM), a Member of the Steering Committee of the World Congress on ngineering Asset Management (WCAM), and a Member of the Steering Committee of Asia-Pacific Vibration Conference (APVC).

Dr. Mechefske received many awards from Canada , Australia , Japan , the UK and the USA for his excellent performance on Machinery Vibration and Condition Monitoring . He has 4 patents and numerous publications , proceedings, papers and presentations. His recent book " Machine Condition Monitoring and Fault Diagnosis, Vibration and Shock Handbook ", was just published by CRC Press (Florida , USA) last June 2005.

Dr. Mechefske has a PhD degree in Mechanical ngineering from Monash University (Australia), a Master and Bachelor Degrees in Mechanical ngineering from the University of Guelph (Canada) with First-Class Honours .
