Mr. David Wood, P.E.
(USA), has spent virtually entire working life (over 40 years of industrial experience) in the oil industry with Caltex Petroleum Corporation (a subsidiary of Chevron and Texaco) with the exception of the final 5 years with Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) in Dubai, which has a business relationship with Caltex. His employment took place in Germany, USA, Japan, Korea, Australia and the Middle East, providing wide exposure to different cultures and languages.

 

 
 


David was rapidly rose in Caltex to Supervisory level in technical, project and planning functions, involving determination of economics of various investments, and handling budgets. In 1980 became General Manager of the CALTEX Group responsible for the economic supply and shipment of crude oil to the Caltex Refinery near Sydney, Australia, and the subsequent shipping of product to Marketing by Tanker and Pipeline.

David assumed position of General Manager of the largest fuels and lube oil refining complex in Australia in 1984. He was responsible for $100 million plus budget and investment programme, Commenced modernization programme and restructuring of work force to reduce fixed costs by $10 million and improve refinery competitiveness.

In 1990, after 5 years operationally strike free, and improvement of company relations with the local community, politicians and environmentalists, was assigned to head office in US, and entrusted with examining investment proposals and economics of various overseas projects, including the " benchmarking " of existing plant. He retired in 1995, but was sought after to work in Dubai on a Condensate Processing Plant with Emirates National Oil Company ( ENOC ). He has worked with Banks to obtain financing of Project, and assisted in start-up and commissioning of Plant from a Planning and Economics perspective, analyzing feed suitability, and production capabilities . Contract completed in July 2002.
