Professor Ian Henderson ( Australia ), PhD, MSc, BSc, CPEng, IWE, is an International Expert in Welding Technology with over 40 years of industrial experience. His expertise include the Design, Fabrication, Welding, Project Management, Installation, Inspection, Materials Selection, QA/QC, Repair and Maintenance of Tanks , Pressure Vessels, Pipelines and Piping systems. He has worked with all of the major World Standards on Pressure Vessels, including American Systems, British Standards, German Standards, EN and ISO Standards. Currently, he is the Welding Consultant for the Australian Welding Services. Despite his hectic schedule he finds time to impart his knowledge and expertise as a Professor on Advanced Manufacturing Technologies at the University of Adelaide.

Being a Certified Auditor to ISO 9001, AS/NZS ISO 3834, and EN 729, he conducts majority of ISO 3834 certification audits on fabricators in Australia. Previously, Prof. Henderson has held numerous senior management positions within large international corporations which included being a State Technology Manager, Managing Director, Deputy Director, Research Program Manager, Quality Assurance Manager, a Welding Research Engineer, and a Welding Engineer for General Motors, CSIRO, the Australian & Overseas Alloys, the Institut fuer angewandte Materialforschung in Bremen, Germany and the Schweissindustrie Oerlikon Buerhle in Zurich, Switzerland.

Prof. Henderson has a PhD, Masters and a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Adelaide, an International Welding Engineer Diploma, and is also a Certified Welding Fabrication Lead Assessor under The Welding Institute (TWI). He is a highly regarded International Welding Engineer ( IWE ) under the International Institute of Welding ( Germany ) , and an Honorary Fellow of the Welding Technology Institute of Australia .
