Mr. Jim Gilad ( USA ), MSc. BSc. Eng., is a Senior Piping and Pipeline Engineer with 36 years of extensive international experience. The specific areas of his expertise are pipe stress analysis, pipe flow analysis, piping and pipe support design including hazard analysis and risk assessment. He is an expert in Process and Power Piping as per ASME and API Standards and Recommended Practices such as ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, BPV Section VIII, Section IX and API 510, 570 and 653. He is currently the President of Gilad Marine Facilities Engineering (GMFE) at New York, USA .

 
 


Mr. Gilad
has accomplished numerous prestigious projects world-wide . He did the conceptual design, analysis and trade off studies for a marine terminal that crossed Saudi Arabia pipeline from Iraq to Yanbu . He worked on the upgrade of Everett Terminal for Exxon and of Mobil Oil's petroleum terminal, wherein his main job was to consolidate cargo product piping , design of new half-hose/half-pipe flow booms , piping crossover manifold designs and dock piping . He was involved in the study of onshore pipeline sizing for Saudi ARAMCO and Newfoundland, Canada . He also worked for Consolidated Edison Company's Ravenswood Power Gneration Station (NY) , wherein he was responsible for piping layout, pipe stress analysis and steam tracing of the pipelines . He had a project for SCOP ( Iraq ) involving the conceptual, preliminary and detailed design of four submarine pipelines and pipelines for emergency shutdown on the tankers. He specialized in the two-phase flow calculations in horizontal, vertical and slanted pipes on his project with Dome Petroleum (CA) . He also designed all potable water piping , fire water piping, sanitary sewer piping and utility piping for US Coast Guards when they relocated. Lastly, he was involved with MOTEMS audit of Pacific Atlantic Terminal wherein his main duty was to carry out pipeline compliance with the seismic requirements.

With his rich experience in the industry, he has worked with the most respected companies as well. He was the Engineering Manager of Brown & Root International ( Houston, TX ), Principal Machinery Engineer for Boyce Engineering International ( Houston, TX ), Senior Project Engineer for Mechanical Technology Inc. ( Latham, NY ) and Chief Mechanical Engineer for Han-Padron Associates ( New York, NY ).

Mr. Jim Gilad has Master's and Bachelor's Degrees of Mechanical Engineering from Rice University and attended graduate courses in Electrical Engineering from Houston University .
