Mr. John Taylor (USA), MS, BS, is a Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer with over 25 years of extensive experience within Oil, Gas, Petrochemical and Power industries, wherein he specialized in the design, installation, commissioning, start-up, maintenance, inspection and troubleshooting.
 
 


He is currently the Lead Instrumentation & Control Engineer of Parson. He is focused on project development, engineering, installation, field start-up, construction and operations of Instrumentation and Control projects, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Controllers (PLC), SCADA, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) and System Interfaces.

Mr. Taylor started his successful career with Exxon Company USA, wherein he was continuously promoted through merits. In the beginning he was the Instrumentation and Electrical Engineer. He was involved in the installation and design of on-stream process analyzers, custody transfer measurement systems, power distribution and motor control. He also engineered the instrumentation of plant additions and upgrades, starting from specs preparation, drawings installation, construction and start-up. He designed, programmed and installed several microprocessor-based systems. Then he was promoted as the Control Systems Engineer for Configuration, Programming and Support. He was responsible for the support systems for new and existing projects including SCADA system, tank gauges, custody transfer, pumps, motor valves and other devices.

He worked on the planning, systems configuration, schematic development and special applications of several TDC-3000 DCS projects. He was the Project Engineer for the development and Testing of Honeywell's Communications Link Module. Finally, he became the Instrument and Controls Project Engineer, wherein he was responsible for multimillion projects such as the $20M Marine Loading Vapor Recovery System, $7M pipestill debottleneck project and $4.5M MEA regenerator debottleneck project. Then he moved forward to working with several companies such as Marrero, Couvillon & Associates, Melamine Chemicals, Borden Chemicals and Agrium Soda Springs. Through years of year of practical experience, he's been an expert of several modern and sophisticated programs and systems such as Siemens 565 PLC, Siemens Quadlog, A-B ControlLogix, Honeywell TDC, Allen-Bradley PLC-5, Win View HMI, Fisher DeltaV DCS, Foundation Fieldbus and HART.

Mr. Taylor has a Bachelors and Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana State University. He is an active member of Instrumentation, Systems & Automation Society (ISA).
